Friday, January 28th, 2011 12:07 amPlaying Keiji more and better understanding his moveset has made me appreciate him more. He's really rather cute. His final super has him getting drunk ("Love Struck" fff!) and the music changes and... god. Just god. XD;
That said, he's not really good for button mashing, if you're that type of player. His Diplomacy of Love cancel move does different things depending on when you cancel in the string, so hitting Diplomacy right after just one attack nets you a really useful sword throw while after two you get an anti-aerial. Cancel one of his specials too early and he "goofs up" (drops his sword, trips, sneezes) and it still does damage but has a cooldown lag. But cancel at the right time and the special combos into a powerful string finisher.
Of course, for the average gamer, this probably isn't even important; while the English localization's "normal" is actually the Japanese "hard"--it's a huge cakewalk. The Japanese version even had an easier mode than "Easy" (which is already pathetically easy in the ENG version, and our Easy is their Normal!)... which further supports my theory that Capcom knows that fujoshi and fangirls fucking love this series and want it make it as accessible as possible for the casual gamers who might not quite be good at a hack 'n slash.
